Audi R18 TDI #3 out after serious accident

Audi Sport Team Joest has lost one of its three Audi R18 TDI cars in the Le Mans 24 Hour race owing to a heavy accident. Allan McNish (#3) had just taken the lead on lap 15 when he collided with a GT car in the "Virage de la Chapelle” section of the track.
He crashed into the armco barrier at high speed and rolled. McNish got out of the car without assistance and was brought to the Medical Center at the track for precautionary checks. Until the time of the accident at 15:50 hrs all three Audi R18 TDI cars were heading the field by a considerable margin.
